Ethel is staring in her own movie. Ya gotta see her. She’s a natural. She didn’t even have to rehearse. She knew her lines, and wasn’t fussy about her hair. A natural born star… Watch for more videos of her on YouTube. xo, PJ

Most of the cow pastures have every size tent you can imagine. Antiques from all over the country, all over the world. In Warrenton they sell out of every old house possible, including the yards. It was hot, so we drove thru so I could snap photos. I think I took 75! Aren’t you lucky I deleted most of them! Ha! We also have a show in Carmine that opens tomorrow. It’s held in the old dance hall. A lot of the shows are in old dance halls. This craziness/fun happens twice a year. Spring & Fall. Usually around the 1st weekend in April & October. I think this is the 42nd fall show at the Big Red Barn. That’s the Round Top Antique Show. ~PJ

I love doing Zentangles. I love dots, any kind of dots. Seems like the two go together. Part of this I used glitter pens by uni-ball Signo. www.jetpens.com They make great pens. I also used (the top left corner) Crown Hi-Jell Roller pens. They make metallic colors that are so fine. Love those pens. They are inexpensive at www.Jerrysartarama.com Both are a must have. Pens are addictive, but make me so happy!

Can’t get the photos to line up like I want. Some days, that’s just the way it goes. Otherwise, it’s been a great day. We went over to Warrington to look around at the antique show. That’s where I found this to die for flamingo. Not in my budget, darn it. Would love him for yard art. (keep your fingers crossed I sell something fast! I found something else I’m dying to have. More yard art!)
Marburger Antique show opens Tuesday, then Round Top Antiques show opens Wednesday. It gets wild and crazy. So much fun. Took the photos of the yellow wild flowers on the back road to Fayetteville. Such a pretty drive. The doll head booth is the strangest thing. First time to see it, but I’ve heard about about it plenty. Too weird. Saw lots of doll parts… Isn’t the church pretty? Loved their signage. The church was so white. Musta been painted recently. It was a beautiful day. Lots of big puffy clouds. Now it’s thundering, going to rain tonight. That’ll be a treat. We need more rain. I’ll share some more show photos tomorrow. xo PJ

This is my 1st family portrait folk art painting. It’s the one I’ve been talking about. It was so much fun for me to do. This family always seems to have a smile on their faces, so I had to show some teeth! It’s on stretched canvas, with a deep board frame. The pointy things are for fun, with old buttons. It’s definitely mixed media. I used every kind of paint, pen, pencil, that I have. Just wanted to show it off before I ship it. Over all it’s 24×30. The right size to fit anywhere. Have a great day, and thanks for looking at my art. xxPJ

Aren’t these fun? I love the bright colors. Seems like I always have to have one star somewhere. Usually more than one. These are screaming folk art! The bright colors, simple lines. Yep, that’s folk art. They’ll be on the Folk Art Gallery online page in just a second… or maybe a minute or two. xoxo PJ

While waiting for paint to dry…. I got tired of holding the blow dryer. So I picked up a paint brush… Well 5 paintings later I have 6 WIP. Oh, my. I may be a tad obsessive. Or hyper. No longer bored, that’s for sure.
So now there’s all different sizes of paintings everywhere…. drying ever so slowly. I will NOT start #7. You can quote me on that. I shall finish these in this life time…. hopefully this week. I have plans for next week.
And the saga continues….. xoxo PJ

It’s raining here, thank the Lord. Very slow, just perfect. But that also means paint dries very slow. Even acrylics. So I’m painting a little, turn the fan on, painting some more, trying the blow dryer. I have a dehumidifier, but it makes noise. I’m not in the mood for noise.
I’m working on that commission I’ve been talking about. A family of four. Such a nice family. I want to do them justice. The cutest two girls. They’ve been buying my art since before they had those cute girls. I’m lucky that I’ve had repeat customers for years. They make you want to do your best every day.
Gotta go see if the paints dry enough. I’m very bad about getting in a hurry, putting my hand right in the wet spot. Then I spend an hour or two trying to fix it. I love to work fast. That’s when I do my best work. So many artists spend lots of time admiring it, studying it. That always makes me laugh. It works for them. If I did that, I’d decide I didn’t like it, and throw it away. Ha! xoxo PJ
