These are new folk art primitive paintings I just finished. Folk art and bright flowers go together. I forgot to measure them, so they’ll be on the Folk Art Gallery – Online page later. I have another painting in the studio. Hopefully I’ll be finished with it tomorrow. These folk art paintings are on stretched canvas. I used heavy body Golden matte acrylics, charcoal, gesso, colored pencils, and matte varnish. I do use everything that’s within reach. Makes it more fun. There are no rules with folk art. There should be no rules with any art. Don’t let anyone tell ya different… have yourself a great weekend. xo PJ (I’m going to put a new video on You Tube. If you’re bored, check it out!)

Hello PJ…I saw a link here from Diane’s blog. I see you are on WordPress too. Were you in Mystele’s class too? Your name seems familiar to me. I like your folk flowers…I have tried to do folk art type paintings but so far I have been unable to pull it off. Hope you are having a great weekend!
Cheers,
Mary

Mary, nope, didn’t do Mystele’s class. I heard from one friend she really enjoyed it. Don’t give up on the folky stuff. It’s loosy goosey, no rules. Have a great Christmas! hugs, PJ PJ Hornberger http://www.pjhornberger.com pj@pjhornberger.com
