OK, I admit it. I’m tired of doing fish…
They’re laying everywhere… waiting for me to give them some attention. They will be there when I’m back in the fish mood.
I’ve been having a fit to work on these. The small head is a reworked piece. Love how it looks. Of coarse it really could use some ears. Some how I forgot that small detail. That will be fixed tomorrow. Then the huge head is a reworked piece also. Several years ago I did several busts. I loved all of them. The black people are the only ones that sold. So I’ve been looking at these two pale faces for too long.
Got them ready for clay tomorrow. I can’t wait! I’m so excited! Going to add some things to the small one. More detail on her face…. like ears. Then the larger one needs lots of work.
I carved by hand for so long today, that I’ve got a blister. I had to remove clay to get them the size I wanted. Especially the larger one. I love knife carving. I’m over carving with power tools. Too much sawdust, and too hard on my shoulder. But give me a carving knife, or a really good pocket knife… and I’m happy.
Just thought you might enjoy watching the progress on these two. I think it’s fun sometimes to see how a piece evolves. Makes me realize just how much work an artist puts into a piece.
Almost forgot! I have Halloween ornaments on eBay. They’re listed under: Art, direct from artist, folk art and primitives. PJ Hornberger Halloween Ornaments. That should help you find them. hugs, PJ
