Bonita’s new hairdo…

Bonita

She’s just had her hair done… loves the new brighter color.  Well, of course it’s her natural color… with just a tad of spark added.  Not that Bonita neeeeds any spark.  Everybody says she has enough for several redheads.  Everybody says that…

Bonita and everybody else will be on

today… unless we have an act of nature… like a tornado or somethin’.  I’ve been saying this for days and days, and haven’t gotten a thing done.  Well,  enough of the baloney… gotta make it happen TODAY!

That’s the story about Buster and Bonita… very real people.

one eyed monster…in red

Red has the worst luck… he keeps losing his extra eye.   No, he never wears two eyes… never.  That would just look weird.  No, just one.  But he does keep a spare… or tries to.  Darn thing spends more time rolling around on the floor.

Yes, Red’s a Monster… he is officially the 2nd  PJ Monster.  Shoulda been the first, but Nester cut in line.  That’s how those 3 toed Monsters are….  they cheat.

Hope ya’ll are having a fun fabulous Wednesday.  Got something to show ya’ll later today… if she gets dry.  Bonita takes the longest time doin’ her hair…. vain women….

I’ll be getting that up to date tonight, I hope.   Put a treasure or two on eBay.  Oh my, I’ve got work to do…

a present…

Ok,  first.. this is gonna make me cry.  But it’s a good cry… well, you know what I mean.  Some things touch my heart in a way that I can’t express in words.  Can’t find the right words, or enough words.  So I cry. :)    Hasn’t got a thing to do with being sad.

It’s all about someone’s kindness,  taking the time to give me a huge present.  Nope,  doesn’t have a dollar sign.  That doesn’t do it.  This present is about sharing,  a big ol’ compliment,  and making me so proud.

I got this email this morning.  I’m hoping she doesn’t mind me sharing it with ya’ll.  It means so much to  me I gotta show  somebody.

I am an art teacher in a little rural school out on the prairie.  We found you on YouTube. All my students are hooked on zentangling thanks to you.  They love your videos.  They love how you tell them NOT to listen to their art teacher!  They love everything about you!  Thanks for sharing your art and personality with us.  You have put a spark in our hearts and in our art.

She teaches in a Colorado …

See what I mean?  That’s the biggest,  nicest compliment  that I could ever ask for.  I wanna hug every one of those kids and her.  And for her to take the time to email and share that… that is huge.  Just huge.

There are nice,  really nice kind people all around us.  I think I need to start sharing some of them more often.  Now I’ve gotta do something nice for the teacher and her class…

Ya’ll have a great week.  Do something creative, fun,  and share it.  Share a hug with someone.  Doesn’t cost a thing.  xo PJ

spooky stuff…

Yes, I have been running around in circles…. I do love Halloween!  So happy to be doing Halloween art again.  Years and years ago I showed it at Gallery Americana on San Felipe in Houston.  It was a hoot.  After that wild ride, I didn’t do much Halloween.  Now that I’m on these fun online groups…. I’m gonna be outta control.  :)    Now to show you a few things I just finished…

Nester… is scared to death.  Got the trimbles.  He’s wearing that bow as a disguise.  Surely they won’t want him if he looks like a sissy….  He just can’t be sitting on somebodys front porch all night… it’ll be dark…

Hinny is a monster.  Just don’t tell him.  He thinks he’s a dancer… he’s trying out for that dancing show on TV.  Wait until you see his moves…

Edith bout had a heart attack when she saw that she’d laid a pumkin… and these polka dots… that darn witch

Edith and a Kitty Kitty  will be starring on  PFATTmarketplace on the 10th of Sept.

This Halloween Ornie is on  HalloweenArtists.com

I think I’m addicted to these little boxes… can’t wait to do more.

OK, that’s enough show and tell for one day.  Enjoy the rest of the weekend and holiday.

As always,  thanks for your interest in my art. xo PJ

new places to visit….

I’m so excited.  I’m now a member of several online art groups.

Some have an online website that are updated monthly. Lots of good artists.

www.PFATTmarketplace.com

www.HalloweenArtists.com

Then I’m a member of artists that sell on eBay.com

PFATT ~ Primitive Folk Art Talk & Tea

do a search on eBay and the PFATT artists will pop up

AHQU ~ Artistic Halloween Queens Unite

Halloween Queens Bootique

another great group of Halloween artists that sell on eBay

As you can see,  my plate is full.  I’m having so much fun learning all the different groups,  the artists,  what they’re up to.  They have such great ideas, and support each other.  I’m very lucky to be a part of it.  They’re going to keep me hopping.

Please check out my art on these sites.  I think you’ll enjoy them.

one more time…

That looks much better… crooked,  but the color’s better,  so’s the focus.  OK,  I’m happy.  Now I’ll put it on the online folk art gallery…

www.PJHornbergerFolkArt.com

Ya’ll have a great Monday morning.  Today I’m working on Bonita’s hair,  and monsters.  And that never ending computer work…. that makes me so very happy. ;)

hearts…

Hearts everywhere… you can’t see the thin frame (deep).  I had to crop it so the photo would be right.  The frame is black,  which just sets off all the color.  Did I tell you how much I love doing hearts?  Well,  I should have.  They make me happy.  I don’t collect them,  I just enjoy doing heart art… now doesn’t that sound fun?

Right after I take a much needed nap… :)    I’ll be putting this baby on

www.PJHornbergerFolkArt.com

You’ll be able to see all the details and ingredients.  But I’ve just got to take that nap first…  I just love a nap…  I highly recommend one…

cats, crows, and pumkins….

Today was a record day… I painted and  put the last touches on all these pieces.  Except the WIP heart painting.  I had the paint flying.  Also did the photos, etc.

The small crow has black glitter on it,  so those are shiny spots, not white dots.  It’s a fun piece.  The Halloween cats have almost the same color on the background… but for some reason it didn’t photograph the same.  :)    The little pumkin box was so much fun for me.  I love the sculpting and then painting the box.

The WIP at the bottom is going to wild and crazy.  Can’t wait to get started on that tomorrow morning.  I love to do hearts,  always.

Time to put my feet up…   thanks for looking…. hugs, PJ

Lucy’s quilt…

Today I went to Threads at the Quilt shop in Brenham, Tx.  A group of women get together and do embroidery,  talk,  and just have fun

Lucy brought a quilt for us to see.  I had been wanting to see this one forever.  Each of those blocks were colored with Crayons.  Not that brand name,  but the same kind of  crayon.  It feels like heaven,   and looks like it’s a made from very old faded fabric.  It is very soft to feel,  plus the colors are very soft and muted.  Then she embroideries the blocks.

Just wanted  to share it with you.  It was a treat to see.  Lucy is  a talented quilter and does such pretty hand work.  It’s so fun to be with  talented woman that enjoy each others company.  Each one brings something different to the table.

I think I’ll get some sleep.  Ya’ll have a fun Thursday……PJ
