I’ll be showing these soon at my first Art Party. Make sure you’re on my email mailing list so you’ll be invited. If you haven’t gotten an email from me in awhile, or you’ve changed servers, you’re not on the list. Oh, no! Better fix that soon. You don’t want to miss out on the fun. ~PJ

This isn’t the greatest photo. I had to take it with my small camera. The other one decided it’s battery was tired. I hate when that happens.
This is that cute family that I’ve been doing the portrait for. I’ve taken way too long to do it. Stuff just kept getting in my way. Right now it has the first coat of varnish waiting to dry. I’m hoping to have it ready to hang this afternoon. Keep your fingers crossed….

Guess what I did today? Yes, I’m still dancing…. but…. I painted, I sketched, I got paint on me. Then I did it some more. It felt soooo gooood!
I worked on a commission that I shoulda already finished. But my life got in my way. Those very nice people have not complained one time. They are the best.
Today was a really good day. The sun was shining, and I just couldn’t stop grinning. Shirley snored through my great mood. Didn’t expect anything else from her.
Back to the commission painting. It’s a family portrait. It’s gonna be sooo fun. It’s got everybody in it, then I added some more. Ha! It is so busy, can’t wait to slap more paint on it tomorrow. Here’s a sneak peak….

I’ll show the finished painting after……

This one I did in 97. I have been busy… I think it was Hicks that gave me the inspiration for this one. His work has always been my idea of the best. He painted so many different scenes, all the Peaceable Kingdom. I intended to paint just the cheetha, but never got around to it. This one and the other Peaceable Kingdom I showed yesterday sold before I really got to show them off. So all these years later… I’m getting the chance. I love the internet! xx PJ Folk Art will enrich you life….

I can’t remember the name of the artist that inspired me to paint this one. He was from the early 1800′s I think. I used his composition, then added my own style/ideas. Which is OK if the artist is DEAD. I love those trees. I’ve seen similar ones in photos from Africa. Folk Art will make you happy. xx PJ

Yes, he’s gone to heaven. Watermelon was his favorite thing in the world. He lived to eat more watermelon… finally over dosed on it. It was that 3rd Black Diamond Watermelon that did him in. But he’s happy. Now he can have all he wants….
This one is from the 90′s. I love to do watermelon art. Makes me smile. Hope it does that for you… Remember, folk art makes you wanna sing every day…. xo PJ

Can’t get the photos to line up like I want. Some days, that’s just the way it goes. Otherwise, it’s been a great day. We went over to Warrington to look around at the antique show. That’s where I found this to die for flamingo. Not in my budget, darn it. Would love him for yard art. (keep your fingers crossed I sell something fast! I found something else I’m dying to have. More yard art!)
Marburger Antique show opens Tuesday, then Round Top Antiques show opens Wednesday. It gets wild and crazy. So much fun. Took the photos of the yellow wild flowers on the back road to Fayetteville. Such a pretty drive. The doll head booth is the strangest thing. First time to see it, but I’ve heard about about it plenty. Too weird. Saw lots of doll parts… Isn’t the church pretty? Loved their signage. The church was so white. Musta been painted recently. It was a beautiful day. Lots of big puffy clouds. Now it’s thundering, going to rain tonight. That’ll be a treat. We need more rain. I’ll share some more show photos tomorrow. xo PJ

Tadah! Roll me over, I’m done. Finished. Completed. And I like it! It looks a little hyper, there’s so much going on. It has lots of color. The frame is perfect for the painting. I’m very happy with it. Hope you like it too.
Also hope you’re having a nice quiet Sunday. Back to the studio for me… oops, not yet. Gotta put this painting on the Gallery Online page, plus hang it in the gallery…. more to do. xx PJ
