hmm…..

No new art to show you.  I think I’m at a stand still.  Can’t seem to get going.  Usually happens to me this time of year.  Not that I’m doing anything else.  Just kinda staring. :-)    Then I take a nap,  two so far today.  Don’t I sound exciting?  I knew you’d be thrilled.

I’ve been cooking.  Love to cook, but haven’t been doing that much of it for the last year.  Trying to stay focused on my art, and produce.  I have this belief… you can’t spread your creativity around too much.  There will be nothing left for the important stuff.  It seems to work for me.

But then I watched that movie.  Julie & Julia.  Shoulda never done it.  You can not imagine how much watching that movie has cost so far.  So far… 2 new cook books…. enough groceries to feed a small army and most of their friends… twice.  The fridge is full, the pantry is bulging,  the freezer has no more room.  And… I’m obsessed.  Totally.

Since I’ve been reading blogs, there’s always someone sharing a recipe.  I always wanted to,  but thought I should stick to my art.  So I drive everyone I know crazy with sharing my latest recipe.  Well, now I’m going to put ‘em on PJ’s Talking, and drive everyone else crazy.  I was going to get rid of that blog,  after I got this new place that I love.  But so far,  it hasn’t happened.  So now I have this idea of doing both.  My art here,  my food & lousy photography there.  We shall see how long this last. :-)    All of this happening in my spare time, you know.  Oh, I forgot.  I want to do more tutorials,  and more how to crazy videos for You Tube.  All of this could mean I’m going to have to give up the naps…  and life as I have known it for the last week and a half…  keep those fingers crossed…  xx

the Texas Woman

09/20/2009 · Comments Off

Have you visited the Texas Woman lately?  If you haven’t,  you need to/want to.  She’s been diagnosed with breast cancer.  She’s going to be a survivor,  but it never ever hurts to have a few more prayers, positive vibes/thoughts.  Besides that,  she’s just funny.  She’s doing her best to deal with this the same way she deals with everything else.  One Texas tough woman.  She’s not doing a bad job, either.  The humor is crazy,  but you gotta know Cher to appreciate it.  Nothing is off limits with her. She has lots of good friends/new friends pulling for her,  and a few more would be nice.  So stop by, say hello,  give her a hug.  She likes hugs.  And a prayer would be nice….  xoxo PJ

Nelda ReamLook what I got in the mail this morning!  I’m so happy.  I bought this from Nelda Ream on eBay.  Isn’t that angel pretty.  I love the wings.  That’s the envelope it came in.  Nelda does the prettiest mail art.  She always thinks of something different.  Now to find a nice frame for my Nelda original!  Go check out her stuff on her blog.  She’s written several articles that have been published in magazines.  And does great mixed media, as you can see.  I’m suppose to be in the studio working… but so far it hasn’t happened.  I’m moving very very slowly… :)   Have a great day! xoxo PJ

Ethel admiring Crocks  head shot  Ethel's nails

Yes, this is life in the country… you have a chicken for a best friend. It started out that I had a chicken for a pet.  Now Ethel is my new best friend.  I think it switched over a couple of weeks ago when I feed Ethel bread on the front porch. Really good bread. Something like 9 grain stuff.  She loved it.  So today I was sitting on the steps, that’s when she decided she needed a really close look at my new camera. Couldn’t help the half a head shot.  The more I raised the camera,  the longer her neck got.  She really wants to peck my Crocks.  She’s fasinated by the holes. When I went in to get the bread,  I must of left the door open.  She was coming in as I got to the door.  That last photo is her doing her nails.  She takes great pride in her nails. Never dirty.

You can have a new best friend if you want.  I had chickens in the city.  Just don’t get anything that crows…. xo PJ
