zentangles….

This zentangle is 5×7, ready for framing. It’ll be on my website some time tomorrow. I finished another one, but didn’t get it photographed. I’ll have time tomorrow, and it’ll also be on …..

Zentangle House..

My very first Zentangle House! Isn’t it wild? Can’t decide which side I like best. As you can see, I also did the back. The roof is all the same pattern. It’ll be on PJ’s Whimsical Shop with all the details very soon!

Did I mention this is habit forming? Did I mention ya just can’t put it down? Napkins in restaurants, bathroom walls (no no, never), the phone book, checks, bills, and a few other things… Be brave, I know you can handle it…

folky zentangles
02/28/2010 · Comments Off

The top Zentangle I had done earlier. It wasn’t very good. Lines were not straight, messy. So last night I decided I’d see if I could fix it. I thought it ended up very interesting. In fact, I think I’ll try that one again. The second one I did last night also. Watching/listening to TV is the best time for me to do these. I started off with the dropped swirls. After I finished with the arrows, the swirls looked too pale. So I went back and darkened just parts of them. I really like the look. Going to use that idea more often.
Try some of these when you have a chance. I promise it’s not hard to do. And they’re always fixable, if you don’t like part of what you’ve done. Besides, there are NO MISTAKES. Don’t be so critical of yourself or what you do. This is for fun, it’s not rocket science!
Have yourself a fun weekend. Do what makes you smile. Doesn’t have to be big, important, cost a bunch of $$$, or impress anybody. Just has to make you smile. Think of the possibilities! xoxoxo PJ

some zentangles…
02/27/2010 · 6 Comments

The top one is new. I used two different pens, so the ink didn’t match. So I went back over that part. Turned out pretty good I think. That one is really fun to do. At first I thought it would be hard, but once I got started, it was easy. Give it a try. I think you’ll enjoy it.
The other two I’m not sure if I’ve shown them before. So I’ll show them anyway. I LOVE arrows. Any kind of arrow. So doing zentangles/doodling….. it’s a natural to add them in. They give lots of movement to a page. The ropes were harder to do than I thought they would be. I drew them first, trying to overlap them. That’s when it turns into a puzzle. But it was worth the challenge. Of coarse I had to rest my eyes ever so often. I kept seeing them move…
Gotta go do errands. Yuck. After I get started, I don’t mind it, but getting me up and going is the hard part. Ya’ll have a great weekend. Do something fun. Have a giggle. It’s good for your heart.

altered pages…
12/29/2009 · 2 Comments

These I did in an altered book that I started. I was going to do sayings, with doodling/zentangles. Put it to the side, to work on something else. Just dug it out, and remembered how much fun it was. It doesn’t show in the photos, but some of the zentangles are with metallic pens. Then some glitter pens. Maybe I should do a tutorial on how to do this. I forgot the cover. That’s the best part…

This is my favorite way to do a cover. Takes forever, but when I’m done, I’m always happy with it. Do you have any favorite sayings? I make up some, borrow others.
Pens I used: Crown Hi-Jell Roller metallic ~ Uniball Signo glitter ~ Sakura Glaze ~ Zig Opague Writer ~ Zig Writer ~ and my favorite Uniball-Signo 207
Places I buy pens: www.jerrysartarama.com www.jetpens.com www.dickblick.com
I store my good pens laying down. They last longer. The Crown Hi-Jell is less than a dollar, and will write over paint like crazy. I love the Signo 207 for zentangles. I found medium refills in black at Staples. www.staples.com might have them. Pens are very addictive. I think they multiply. I probably neeeed some new ones. xoxoxo
